Able to kill the lvl 83 Green dragon Elvarg
Items Needed: 90 steel nails
Three Planks (found in the Wilderness near the Hill Giants in level 17 or 19 of the Wilderness, outside the members-only Barbarian Outpost, or make them with the members-only Sawmill Operator for 100gp each plank (Northeast of Varrock),
A Hammer
2000 gp (or an extra 10k for those that can't telegrab),
an Unfired bowl
a Lobster pot
Silk
a Wizard's mind bomb (can only be bought in Falador Pub)
Items recommended:Tele-grab Runes if you are tele-grabbing the last map piece (1 law rune, 1 air rune)
Tele-port runes
At least full mithril armor and a adamant warhammer
To Start: Talk to the guild master in the champion’s guild for some rune Platebody.
Starting Point: After talking to the guild master of the master guild you will find out that he knows a friend named Oziach. He says Oziach has some rune platebodies to sell.
1.Finding Oziach:Oziach lives in a little house on the cliff of edgeville. This is located north-west of the edgeville bank. Ask Oziach about rune Platebody.
2.The Difficult Task:He will tell you that the only way he will sell you a rune Platebody is for you to prove yourself worthy. You must slay a dragon named Elvarg. You will need an anti-dragon shield to protect you from the dragon’s breath. Talk to him more to know more about the dragon and the map to Crandor.
3.The map pieces:Oziach will tell you where the map pieces are located.
1 is in the Melzar's Maze.
The other is in a secret room in the dwarven mines.
The last is in hands of a goblin named Wormbrain.
4.First Map piece: Go back to the Guild master and ask him for a key into Melzar’s Maze. Then go to Port Sarim and find a building with rats in it. Unlock the door with your key(remember bring some food). Kill the rats until you find a red key that they drop. Use it on the north-west door with a ladder.
Then you will come to the second lvl. You will find ghosts there; you can talk to them if you have an amulet of ghost speaks. Kill ghosts until you receive an orange key. Use it on the door SECOND FROM THE NORTH. A lot of people mess up here.
Then you will be on a floor with skeletons. Kill them until you receive a yellow key. Use it on the MOST southwest door. Go down the ladders until you get to some zombies.
You will end up in the basement with a couple of zombies. Kill them until you receive a blue key. Open the door in front of you with it.
Then you will fight Melzar the mad. Then kill Melzar the Mad until you get a Magenta key. Melzar the Mad uses fire strikes, weakening spells, and kicks you with his stinky feet. Lower levels are recommended to use armor that has a good magic Defence, Go through the door.
After you’ve gone through the door you’ll find a lesser demon (OMFG).he is lvl 83.Kill it and get the last key which is green. Open the last door and check the chest to find the last map piece.
5.Second map piece:Go to the Oracle, located above the Dwarven Mines, with your Silk, Wizard's mind bomb, unfired bowl, and Lobster pot. She'll tell you about a door in the mines. Go down there. The door is near the northeast part of the mine. When you go through the door, your Silk, Wizard's mind bomb, unfired bowl, and Lobster pot should disappear. Check the chest. You'll get a Map piece.
6.Third and last map piece:Go to the bank to get some runes and arrows to do this (if you are a ranger or mage).Go to Wormbrain and kill him. He will drop the last map piece. use tele grab to get it. If you are a fighter then you have to pay 10k to him (sad….).
7.Claiming the anti-dragon shield:After you do all this go back to lumbrige and talk to the duke. Ask him about a shield that protects from bad dragon breath (lol).He’ll give you the anti-dragon shield for free!
8.Getting to Crandor:To get to Crandor you need a ship. So buy the Lady Lumbrige from the guy at Port Sarim for 2k.Then enter the ship and go down the latter to the base. Use your nails and planks on the hole that is in the ship. Then go to Draynor village and talk to Ned. Give him the map to Crandor and he’ll tell you to meet him at the boat. Go to your ship (lady lumbrige) and set sail.
After you’re on Crandor you find that Ned crashed the ship (OMFG there is no way back).So you are going to have to press forward. Get to the top of Crandor Island. You’ll meet monsters like hobgoblins and lesser demons. Try to dodge them and enter the cave without getting hurt.
9.The entrance:OMG, you finally get to slay the dragon. You will find some skeletons down at the cave, try to dodge as many as you can. Then jump over the rocks leading to doom.
Caution: If you forgot any of the following items please use lumbrige home teleport to get them!
-The anti-Dragon shield
-Teleportation runes in case you are close to death
-Some food
-Armor & weapon
-Strength potions (optional)
Your inventory should look something like this:
10.The Final Battle (Finally):This is it, Attack Elvarg (level 83). She hits quite hard for a level 83. When I fought her, she maxed out a 10 (with melee, she can hit to 65 with her breath if you aren't wearing your shield). Eat when you need to, and make sure you don't die. After you’ve beat her you will be transported outside of the cave. Now you can run to the entrance of Crandor and home teleport, The quest is completed!!!!!!!!
Dragon slaying tips:Bring armor like mithril or adamant.
Here are the sets I recommend:
Sets:
-Mithril Full helm (or adamant)
-Mithril Platebody (or adamant)
-Anti-dragon shield
-Mithril Platelegs (or adamant)
-Leather vambraces
-Leather boots
-melee cape
The other tip is what weapon to bring. the dragon is weak against crush and stab attacks. So I suggest bringing a adamant battleaxe or war hammer. A rune sword also works.
